Thank you so much to everyone who expressed an interest in participating in the LEGACY study. We were delighted to recruit all 20 participants within the first few weeks of the study opening!
The LEGACY participants have been kindly coming to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus for a study visit once every 6 weeks to provide blood and saliva samples, answer questionnaires about their health and lifestyle and have been wearing Fitbits to collect data on their activity, heart rate and sleep. We’re now coming up to the 6th study visits, which marks the half-way point for the 12 planned visits! We have been thrilled with the quality of the samples, particularly the self-collected fingerprick blood samples and are hugely grateful to all the participants for giving up their time to take part in the study. The samples they have provided will not only help us gain a better understanding of how health and lifestyle affect our blood and immune system, but will also help us assess the feasibility of participant self-collected samples for use in larger-scale research studies.
